Cement Storage Control System Based on Mitsubishi Electric Controllers

Efficient management of bulk material storage is a key task in modern building materials production. To address this challenge, our engineers developed an automated control system for a cement storage facility consisting of multiple silos designed for loading and unloading cement.

Project Objectives

The main goal was to provide real-time monitoring of material levels in each silo and to ensure reliable data recording of all loading and unloading operations. The system was required to store detailed information — operation type, date and time, operator ID, and product volume — in a computer database for subsequent analysis and reporting.

Technical Implementation

The system was implemented using a Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC FX3U programmable logic controller equipped with analog input modules for signal acquisition from Endress+Hauser sensors and an RS-485 communication module for data exchange with the upper-level SCADA system (MX4).

  • Design and preparation of complete engineering documentation
  • Manufacturing of control and data acquisition panels
  • Development of PLC and SCADA software
  • Commissioning and system tuning on site

Achieved Results

The implemented system established accurate and transparent material accounting across all silos, significantly improving operational control and traceability of cement storage and logistics.

Further Development

The solution is scalable and can be replicated across multiple storage sites, ensuring unified monitoring and reporting standards throughout production facilities.
